Introducing Super Cycles and Scooters, a long established company compared to other electric scooter companies on the market in 2020. Being in business for 15 years, and making electric scooters for more than 10 years, they have designed a method for wonderful high-quality powerful electric scooters.
Today we will look at a Super Turbo 1000-Elite electric scooter, which an improvement from their previous 800 Watt model with a number of added features. This shows that the company is investing resources to improve their products regarding customer needs in order to establish a long-term presence in the personal electric vehicles industry.
The Super Turbo 1000-Elite electric scooter is a powerful, green alternative means of transport. Having a powerful motor and a number of features to make your ride comfortable, smooth and most importantly safe, the Super 1000-Elite has lots of features which has added some weight to the scooter, so it falls in the middleweight electric scooters class.
This seated electric scooter is very versatile and can be used not only in the city but also for some off-roading in nature.

Speed, Power & Distance
How fast does it go?
The Super 1000 Elite is the fastest electric scooter we have reviewed to date. The 1000 Watt 36V powerful motor in the back allows to reach 29 – 43.5 km/h (18 – 27 m/h) speeds in perfect driving conditions. The speed is really impressive for a budget electric scooter and will leave all other lightweight electric scooters we’ve reviewed in the dust!
The powerful DC brushed motor reaches 3000 rpms. During our tests it allowed us to actually reach the advertised maximum speed.
Does it have more than one speed setting?
Yes, this 1000 Watt scooter has 2 speed modes: Econo and Turbo. The Econo mode is, of course, the economy mode that will go slower but will be able to reach longer distances with a full charge and the Turbo mode gets you to maximum speed.
What age/weight is it suitable for?
Super Cycles and Scooters do not mention what is the minimum age that the Super 1000 Elite can be operated, they do say in their website that only 18 and older customers can purchase their products. So consider very carefully about buying this powerful electric scooter for a teenager. Not only it’s powerful it is also very fast and can cause serious damage in an accident.
The maximum driver weight is 113 kg (250 lbs) and allows even heavier customers to enjoy this entertaining alternative means of transportation.
What is the range/distance?
The company stated range is 16 – 29 km (10 – 18 miles). It is interesting that the company gives a range, not a maximum distance and even informs customers that the max distance they can ride will be greatly reduced if driving on hills and with heavy weight. This shows the company is honest and sincere, unlike some who provide the absolute max range in perfect conditions, which is almost never realistic in real world practice.
During our tests we had a male driver weighing around 80 kg (176 lbs) drive for 13 km (8 miles) with 50% of battery, on Econo mode, which would give 26 km (16 miles) with a full charge. Then the other half of battery was driven on turbo mode for 8 km (5 miles), giving 16 km (10 miles) with a full charge. Seems that the company distance range is very fair, even though the turbo mode distance is a bit low for middleweight electric scooter.
Can it be used off-road?
Unlike almost all lightweight electric scooters the Super 1000 Elite can handle some off-roading. With the basic model, you should not have much trouble driving on hard earth, short grass or small rocks because of the big 10.5-inch air filled tires along with front and rear suspension. Remember that this scooter is not designed specifically for off-roading so it won’t handle deep sand or wet surfaces.
Battery Life & Charging
How long does it take to charge?
The Super Turbo 1000 Elite is equipped with a powerful 36v 12ah Deep Cell Lead Acid battery that will charge in 6 – 8 hours. It takes longer to charge than most Lithium-Ion batteries but remember this battery is much bigger and needs to run a powerful motor.
What we love about the Super Cycles and Scooters is that they have a bunch of accessories for the Super Turbo Elite 1000 scooter. In their accessory shop, you can buy an extra charger and even a better 36v 20ah LifePo4 Lithium Battery. We didn’t have the chance to test the fast charger and the bigger battery but we have seen great feedback from their customers that the accessories vastly improve charging time, power, and distance you can ride.
Battery protection & safety
We were not able to find any battery protections mentioned by the supplier except that they state they use more expensive batteries for better quality. Looking through past customer reviews we did not see people have had many issues with the battery.
How long will the battery last for?
The battery should last around 350 charges, however, Super Cycles and Scooters sell desulfating charger in their accessories store, which should greatly increase your battery lifespan.
Design and Ergonomics
This scooter is different from other lightweight electric scooters, which you can mistake for a regular kick scooter. Super Turbo Elite is much bigger, has a seat, and a bunch of extra accessories.
We really like the seat on this scooter. When going fast it is easier to control the scooter while seated and for longer distances, you can rest your legs.
You will be able to choose from black, neon green, and red colors.
The scooter as a whole does not look very sexy or smooth. Longer handlebar, bigger tires, larger frame make this scooter look quite bulky. If you are looking for a portable smooth looking scooter Super Turbo 1000 Elite is not for you.
Is it foldable?
Yes, the scooter is foldable by easily removing the seat and pulling the handle near the frame to collapse the scooter. The folded scooter dimensions are 43 x 117 x 30 cm (17 x 46 x 12 inches) and unfolded 107 x 117 x 30 cm (42 x 46 x 12 inches). As you can see the scooter is quite big but still fits in a car trunk for the last mile commuting.
What material is it made from?
The frame of the scooter is made from high-tensile steel to firmly hold the scooter and all the parts connected to the frame.
Handlebar
The first time we saw the scooter handlebar we immediately saw the similarities to a regular bike handlebar. It has that V shape of a handlebar and brake handle of a regular bike.
In the middle of the handlebar, you have a key ignition. We got really used to starting electric scooters with just a push of a button, but a key ignition makes it a little safer if someone were to try to steal it.
On the right handle, you have three small LED lights that will indicate your battery power state and a small red button to switch from Econo mode to Turbo mode.
The right side handle is, of course, for acceleration, just twist it towards you to accelerate like on a regular scooter or a motorcycle.
We were a little disappointed that there was no LED screen to show at least some general information like your current speed.
Does it connect to your smartphone via app or Bluetooth?
No Bluetooth connection for smartphone apps. This electric scooter does not boast many smart features.
Does it have suspension?
Not having any smart technologies gets redeemed by the mechanical features on this scooter. Front suspension and even two rear suspensions are the three main features that allow you to have a very smooth ride on this scooter. Even when going on surfaces with small rocks or flat earth the ride is easy and gentle, a huge improvement compared to most lightweight electric scooters.
Build quality and ease of use
We love Super Turbo 1000 Elite quality for the price you pay. It is a very well built scooter for alternative transport. Firm steel frame along with front and back suspension allows you to feel comfortable and safe and a big comfy seat will allow you to sit and scoot around the town.
It is easy to use the scooter since it does not have an LED screen with complex settings for programs. Just use the key in the ignition and you can go.
Starting and stopping is easy, folding is easy, but what about weight? You can transport it to your car trunk but not carry it for a longer period of time. It weighs 42 kg (92lbs)! Honestly, not everyone could even pick it up. If you need to carry it to public transportation like train or metro then perhaps. But if you have segments on your route of more than a few meters where you need to carry this scooter think twice. It is not meant to be carried.
Additionally, if you are going to use it for commutes to work or college think beforehand where will you be able to store it and/or charge it. The scooter is much bigger and won’t fit into a locker or under a desk.
Safety and usability on the road
You will be satisfied with the ride quality you get on this scooter when riding on roads, sidewalks, and other pavements. Even going a little offroad should be easily handled by this scooter, as long as you don’t ride on mud or soft flat earth.
The scooter has a front LED headlight but no rear light or reflectors. We would advise buying a rear headlight and maybe side mirrors from their accessories page. Driving a fast scooter you need to be seen and see others on the roads. It is a bit pity that these simple accessories which seem essential are not included when buying the scooter.
Riding this fast and heavy scooter requires good brakes and Super Cycles and Scooters provide just that, front and rear disc brakes. Depending on the speed and rider weight you will have no trouble stopping in 4 – 6 meters.
Is the Super Turbo 1000 Elite waterproof?
The company does not state and IP waterproof rating for this scooter. The only part that can be damaged by water is the battery and it is encased in a heavy duty double canvas bag. The bag should protect from rain and water splashes, however, we would advise to handle the battery with care and protect it from the water.
Does it have cruise control?
To no surprise, there is no cruise control as any other ‘smarter’ features.
Maneuverability
We had fun riding this fast electric scooter. It’s handling feels a little bit different from lightweight electric scooters. Maybe it is because you are sitting or just because it is bigger. Nevertheless, the ride is smooth because of the big and wide rubber tires and the suspension. The Super Turbo Elite handles hills surprisingly well. We went a little off roading in a forest with small hills, branches, and hard earth, to our delight the scooter was fast, very responsive and gave us a lot of fun and adrenaline.
Restrictions and availability
Sadly for some, Super Cycles and Scooters currently ship only to the USA.
We also need to mention that this scooter is much more powerful and faster than most lightweight electric scooter going under 32 km/h (20 m/h). Therefore you need to check your local laws and see if this scooter is street legal.
