Starting off our Boosted Rev 2023 review with speed, this scooter most certainly packs a punch; its powerful 1500W motor propels the Boosted Rev to speeds of up to 24 mp/h (39 km/h), for a range of up to 22 miles (35 km)!
This display alone puts the Rev eScooter up there with some of the best high-performance scooters on the market. For reference, this remarkable ride reaches nearly reaches the speed limit of many rural towns and urban cities (30 mp/h); making it perfect for getting around town/commuting and an excellent alternative to a car or bus.
Please note, variables such as rider weight, battery power, ride mode, incline, terrain, etc. have an impact overall performance. On the topic of inclines, the Boosted Rev also tackles up to 25% (approx. 15 degrees), offering great performance and perfectly capable of tackling the majority of inclines found in cities/towns.
How fast does it go?
24 mp/h (39 mp/h) with 3 ride modes to choose from beginner, intermediate and advanced; each of which offer different levels of acceleration, top speed and power.
What age/weight is it suitable for?
The Boosted Rev electric scooter supports weights of up to 250 lbs (113 kg), whilst itself weighing just 46 lbs (20.9 kg). As such, anyone between the weight of 40-113 kg shouldn’t have a hard time with it. However, please note that this is a high power scooter and not aimed for kids. Although, that’s not to say kids around the age of 13 or taller than 5″ will have any trouble, alongside different riding modes helping for a bespoke ride.

What really sets this electric scooter apart from the rest is the phenomenal charge time of just 3 hours. Compared to many other high end scooters on the market, with charge times between 6-8 hours; the Boosted Rev is one of the fastest charging electric scooters currently available on the market. Riders should expect an average battery life of approx. just under an hour (riding full speed non-stop on flat terrain).

The Boosted Rev stores its power in premium lithium cells, protected by IPX7 waterproof rated, automotive-grade casing. The battery is further protected with an anti-propagation design and an advanced Battery Management System. Boosted take great pride in their battery systems, citing them as a “true leap forward in the innovation of battery design”.
How long will the battery last for?
Being a high quality lithium battery, long term users should expect around 500-1000+ charges before any issues. Even if you were charging every day, it would still take around 2-3 years to reach this point.

The design of the Boosted Rev is much like their boards, smooth, sleek yet emanating a certain robust endurance. It’s hard to imagine how they fitted everything in there, the shaping is so streamlined. As far as we’re aware, the Rev eScooter only comes in that classic black/graphite colour scheme. The frame of the Rev looks strong, sturdy and compact, whilst still keeping a smooth design overall.
Furthermore, the beastly rubber tires add both style and additional functionality to the Boosted Rev, allowing for greater grip on terrains. The controls and display are perfectly situated; brakes and a bell on the handlebar with the central display keeping you updated on battery life, speed and more. Lastly, front & rear lights ensure that you stay seen and safe during all hours of the day.
What material is it made from?
Battery pack is protected by a shockproof, dust-proof and waterproof automotive-grade aluminium case. Whilst no other information is disclosed on the materials used, we think its safe to assume that the rest of the frame is also aluminium, with rubber handle grips and wheels. Rest assured, the materials used in manufacturing the Boosted Rev are of serious quality and the same kind of alloy they use to build cars.
Can it be used as a regular scooter?
Provided the wheels do not automatically lock when out of battery, expect to start working on leg day courtesy of the walk home.
Does it connect to your smartphone via app or Bluetooth?
Yes – The Boosted Rev supports Bluetooth app connection and supports both iOS and Android phones.
Build quality and ease of use
As expected, the build quality of this high-performance electric scooter is of the highest standards. The alloys used in construction are the same used in automotive manufacturing. As one of the more expensive scooters on the market, it’s safe to say that quality control standards are taken extremely seriously. As previously mentioned, Boosted take great pride in their batteries, citing them as a “true leap forward in the innovation of battery design”. This gives you some perspective on just how seriously the quality on the Boosted Rev is and what to expect from Boosted.
Moving on to ease of use, the 3 ride modes offer a great way to start at your own pace and match your skill. Choose from beginner, intermediate and advanced, each with varying levels of acceleration power and top speeds. Riding the Boosted Rev is extremely comfortable, with ample foot space offered, alongside a convenient back push brake and mechanical disc brake.
All in all, we think this is certainly one of the highest quality, best performing e-scooters on the market. Lastly, Boosted also offer 12 months warranty on all official purchases.
Safety & Usability on the road

With a max. speed of 24 mp/h, you’re just short of the 30 mp/h average speed limit inside urban cities and towns, pretty impressive. As such, keeping up with traffic should pose no problem, with the added mobility cutting your commute time even further. The Boosted Rev features three braking mechanisms, a hand disc brake for the front wheel, a rear fender foot brake and an electric brake on the throttle wheel.
Having multiple braking methods on hand is very convenient and also offers a more reliable ride in wetter weather or tricky terrain. All electrical circuitry is suitably protected, in an IPX7 waterproof rated case housing the battery, alongside an IP67 rating for the frame. The front and rear LED lights ensure that you’ll stay seen and safe on darker days; however, we still recommend wearing a high visibility jacket and helmet when riding at night.
Is the Boosted Rev waterproof?
Yes – The battery is housed in an IPX7 waterproof rated case, protecting it from any water, dust and puncturing. Alongside this, the rest of the Boosted Rev frame further features an IP67 waterproof rating. Find out more about IP waterproof ratings here.

As far as we’re aware, the Boosted Rev ships worldwide, with obvious exceptions for certain countries.
