Welcome to our official Hiboy S2 Pro review for 2024, in which we’ll discuss a number of specs, stats & features included in this excellent eScooter model. Much like the NEX, this model is a great pick for those money-minded riders; offering mid-spec performance for a reasonable price, also making a great eScooter for commuters. We were pleasantly surprised to see some high-end features such as cruise control & regenerative braking, alongside further including some superb suspension.
This model also offers mobile app support, allowing riders to easy check mileage, lock their ride, customise speed/cruise control and much more. Each order contains the eScooter, charger, screws, wrench kit & user manual, alongside 1 year warranty on official purchases. How fast does it go?
Propelled by a quiet yet powerful 350W brushless motor, this eScooter offers a top speed of approx. 18.6 mp/h (29.9 km/h). However, please note that variables such as terrain, incline, rider weight, etc. will impact overall performance.
What age/weight is it suitable for?
Whilst Hiboy state that this eScooter is intended for adults, we still believe those aged 16+ will have no issues mastering this model. In terms of weight, the S2 Pro supports up to 260 lbs (117 kg), whilst weighing just 36.3 lbs (16.5 kg) itself.
What is the range/distance?
Riders should expect an average max. range of approx. 25-30 miles (40.2-48 km) per charge. Please note that this figure was reached testing on a flat surface with an average rider weight of 68 km. Much like top speed, variables such as incline, terrain, weather, rider weight, etc. will impact overall performance.
Can it be used offroad?
Whilst this model offers limited off-road functionality, its clear that this model is intended for roadside use. Although offering great grip, the 10″ rubber tires are clearly city wheels, with minimal off-road performance. Mild mud or grass won’t pose a threat, however we still recommend sticking to flat & smooth surfaces as intended. Those riding off-road may notice a significant loss of grip, control and performance.
Does it lose power uphill?
This model performs surprisingly well uphill for its price range, capable of tackling inclines of up to 15 degrees. Any steeper than this and we notice a fairly significant drop in performance. However, 15 degrees is still a great hill-climbing capacity for such a low-cost scooter. Lastly, please note that rider weight, terrain, etc. will impact performance.

How long does it take to charge?
Equipped with a 36V 11.4Ah Lithium-ion battery, riders should expect an average charge time of approx. 6 hours from empty. Lithium-ion batteries typically offer greater capacity, longer lifespan and higher efficiency than their counterparts; making a perfect addition to any eScooter. As the battery is integrated, riders must charge from the frame, which can be potentially cumbersome at times. However, this does offer a slight additional level of protection against the elements and any harsh hits.
How long will the battery last for?
Lithium-ion batteries are some of the best performing batteries on the planet, averaging between 500-1000+ charge cycles before any issues arise. For some perspective, it would take approx. 2-3+ years of daily charging to reach this point. Alongside this, Hiboy also stock a number of spare parts & accessories, should you need any replacements. Lastly, riders are covered for up to 12 months, thanks to their standard warranty on all official purchases; keeping you covered should any faults occur in this time.

Moving our 2024 Hiboy S2 Pro review onto design & ergonomics. We were fairly surprised with such a brilliant design offered for such a cost-effective price. For starters, cruise control is a great quality of life feature often overlooked even by high-end models. As such, we were thankful to Hiboy for allowing us to rest our wrist and enjoy a relaxing ride, another plus for commuters. Regenerative braking is also another awesome feature, converting kinetic braking energy back into battery power; in turn helping you push for that extra mile. Whilst a fairly passive addition, this is still a great feature rarely seen on models of this price. 10″ solid rubber tires offer great grip and completely remove the possibility of puncturing, great for long distance journeys.
Rear dual shock absorption ensures a suitably smooth ride, soaking up harsh hits and potholes with ease; helping riders maintain comfort and control. The fully folding frame allows riders to quickly & easily fold up, transport and store their ride, making this a great electric scooter for commuters. This frame further features a number of hooks to hang things off, such as shopping or luggage, a remarkably simple yet effective inclusion. The S2 Pro even offers mobile app compatibility for both iOS & Android phones, allowing riders to check stats, change settings & diagnose your ride. All in all, this marvellous model is well worth the price; making it one of the best low-cost electric scooters for commuters.

Build quality and ease of use
Bringing our 2024 Hiboy S2 Pro review onto build quality & ease of use. To begin, we’re always happy to see Lithium-ion batteries being utilised. These types of battery offer much greater charge capacity, a longer lifespan and much more. 10″ solid rubber tires also offer a much longer lifespan than their air-filled counterparts due to protection against puncturing. Whilst air-filled tires do offer some level of shock absorption, solid rubber tires are remarkably robust. Speaking of robust, the aluminium alloy frame allows for both a strong yet lightweight eScooter. Whilst weighing just 36.3 lbs (16.5 kg), the S2 Pro supports weights of up to 260 lbs (118 kg); just over 7 times its own weight!
Furthermore, the frame can withstand a number of hits and bumps without denting or warping. To attest to their confidence in build quality, Hiboy also offer 12 months warranty on all official purchases; keeping you covered should any faults arise in this time. We were surprised with the surprisingly decent performance considering the 350W motor size and low price. In terms of ease of use, this model is extremely easy to get the hang of, operating much like every other eScooter. However, a number of design choices were made to improve quality of life, such as hooks for hanging shopping, bags, etc. The deck is spacious, allowing for comfortable standing and easy manoeuvring. So, whether you’re a casual rider or cost-effective commuter, we heavily recommend this electric scooter.
How easy is it to carry?
Fairly easy – Whilst this model is a little heavier than other competitors, it’s only by a few kilograms. At 36.3 lbs (16.5 kg), riders should have no issue folding and carrying their ride to wherever they need.
How smooth is the ride?
Fairly smooth, mostly in thanks to rear dual shock absorption. However, we still recommend sticking to smooth/even surfaces where possible.

Moving our 2024 Hiboy S2 Pro review onto probably the most important section; safety & usability on the road. To start off, the ultra-bright headlights are a crucial feature and welcome addition; even offering a range of up to 15 metres, keeping you seen & safe no matter the hour.
The integrated tail light is also an important feature, alerting those behind you of your continued existence. However, we still insist riders wear adequate safety gear, such as reflective clothing, helmet, gloves, etc. Braking is fairly responsive, thanks to a double braking system featuring disc & electric/regenerative anti-lock braking.
Thanks to this, riders can make sharp & sudden stops on demand and at a moments notice. Whilst currently unspecified, its more than likely this model meets a number of fire & electrical safety standards, known as “UL certification“. The vast majority of modern models must adhere to these standards and as such, imagine the S2 Pro no different.
In terms of usability, its clear that this model was designed mainly with roadside in mind, predominantly due to a lack of off-road functionality. Whether for fun or for work, those sticking to the roads will enjoy a smooth and comfortable ride.
