Segway Ninebot S PLUS Overview
Possessing superior speed, power, battery life and more, the Segway Ninebot S PLUS is a new and improved variant of the standard model. With a range 13 km greater than the standard model, the S PLUS goes the extra distance. The innovative knee control bar allows riders to operate their hover board completely hands-free. Think about the endless possibilities that you can do with your hands.
Stay hydrated without stopping, or high five your friends if you have any! Whilst recommended for ages 16-60, the knee control bar is also the perfect height for kids, with beginner mode and speed limiting available through the Segway mobile app, available on both Apple and Android. Great for little learners!
Furthermore, the Segway mobile app boasts a number of additional features and functions for your hover board. This includes LED tail and headlight customisation, speed limits, alarm options, follow mode and much more. The Segway Ninebot S PLUS further features a multi-functional physical control, enabling the remote usage of your hover board.
With a convenient, compact one push frame constructed from aviation grade aluminium alloy, the Segway Ninebot S PLUS is both durable and lightweight. The design results in a board that’s easy to both carry and store, capable of folding up in one motion, or “one push”.
Whilst the design is more or less the same, this model of board is a significant improvement on the standard model, with a greater speed and distance and a few extra features thrown in. Increased efficiency of motors result in an significantly increased range of 13 km more than the standard model. Leave your friends in the dust, thanks to two powerful 800 Watt motors that allow for a total discharge power of 1600 Watts.
This serious level of Wattage enables a top speed 2.5 mp/h faster than the standard model. You’ll be a fan favourite in the hover board drag race scene in no time. Thanks to this power, the Segway Ninebot S PLUS easily handles inclines of up to 15 degrees and supports weights of up to 220 lbs!

How fast does it go?
12.5 mp/h (20 km/h). The S-PLUS is 2.5 mph faster in comparison to the standard model, which has a top speed of 10 mph and a maximum range of 13.7 miles, 8.3 miles less than this upgraded model. The speed limit is also available for adjustment through the Segway mobile app for those who wish to play it safe.
What age/weight is it suitable for?
16-60 / 55-220 lbs (25-100kg). Whilst Segway recommends riders to be of a minimum age of 16, the knee control bar makes it the perfect height for younger users too. Whilst we don’t recommend anything against the advice of Segway, we can’t stop you or your kids.

On average, you can expect a range of approx. 22 miles (35km), this is 13 km more than standard Segway Ninebot S model. However, this is dependant on variable factors such as rider weight, style, speed, terrain, incline and more.

The Segway Ninebot S PLUS follows a similar design to the standard model, with an innovative and highly functional knee control bar which enables sharp and precise turning at a moments notice. Manufactured from lightweight, aviation grade aluminium alloy, this board is both strong and lightweight.
As mentioned prior, it’s capable of supporting weights up to 220 lbs, 7.5 times its own weight. Alongside this, it neatly folds up for easy storage. 11 inch air-filled, anti skid tires result in a smooth and comfortable ride for users, capable of handling a number of terrains and environments.
Furthermore, IP54 waterproofing standards ensure continued use through the elements, with a built-in waterproof storage compartment. Security is also considered and covered, featuring a tamper-proof alarm that sends a warning notification to your phone whenever moved.

Build quality and ease of use
The overall build quality of the Segway Ninebot S PLUS is very high. As mentioned prior, the frame is constructed from lightweight, aviation grade aluminium alloy. This is the same material used in the construction of planes and even some space shuttles. Now whilst you can’t ride to space, you are capable of riding on a number of terrains and environments, thanks to 11 inch anti-skid pneumatic tires. These provide a smoother experience on tricky terrains by improving comfort and overall grip during riding.
Also previously mentioned, this board is highly waterproof, adhering to IP54 waterproofing standards. This enables it for use in a huge manner of conditions, from storms to snow, however we wouldn’t recommend optionally going out in these conditions. The highly functional knee control bar allows users to make sharp, precise manoeuvres on a whim. All in all, this board is extremely easy to get to grips with, featuring a beginner mode and tutorial to help get you started and auto-balance algorithms to keep riders stable and leave less room for error.
