Welcome to our MegaWheels S10 review for 2024. In our overview section, we briefly discuss some of the key features of this lovely low-cost eScooter. Firstly, it goes without saying that MegaWheels have manufactured a cost-effective electric scooter still full of features. Fully integrated front & rear LED lighting pose a welcome sight, greatly improving visibility and safety of riders.
Whilst weighing 12.1 kg (26.67 lbs), this super scooter supports weights of up to 100 kg (220 lbs); just over 8.2 times its own weight! We were amazed at how amazingly lightweight, yet robust and durable this eScooter really is. With a relatively small 250W motor engine, we were pleasantly surprised with the performance offered by the S10. Riders have the freedom to choose from 3 speed modes, each with varying levels of acceleration and top speed. Take it easy in Economy (12 km/h), have a nice ride in Normal (20 km/h) or kick up dust in Fast mode (25 km/h). For a low-cost eScooter with a 250W engine, a 25 km/h (15.5 mp/h) max. speed certainly left us surprised.
Furthermore, the MegaWheels S10 offers ranges of approx. 17-22 km (10.56-13.67 miles), depending on output, rider weight, terrain, etc. Whilst a relatively low range in comparison to higher end models, we still believe this performance more than acceptable considering the price. Perfect for short-distance commuters, first time riders and eScooter enthusiasts everywhere. Moving our 2024 MegaWheels S10 review on to battery life and charging. First of all, the 7.5Ah lithium-ion battery offers an exceptional charge time; capable of charging from empty in just 4 hours. For some perspective, many higher end models often take in excess of 8-12+ hours to charge from empty. However, it’s worth noting that this balances out with the lower mileage offered by this budget eScooter. The conveniently situated display showcases battery life, current speed & mode, light status and more.

As a high quality lithium-ion battery, you should expect an average of 500-1000+ charges before anticipating any battery faults. Even if you were to charge daily, you’d still struggle to reach 1000+ charges in under 2-3 years.

Welcome to the next section of our 2024 MegaWheels S10 review, design & ergonomics. For starters, this super lightweight eScooter frame also fully folds for easily and effortless storage and transportation. Alongside this, its weight of just 12.1 kg make carrying this electric scooter extremely easy. Both front and rear fenders come included, helping protect you from mud, rocks and gravel kicking up at you.
The integrated kickstand always proves handy for stops short and long, providing a tried and tested method of standing your scooter. The previously mentioned display is conveniently located, showing riders their battery, speed/mode, etc. Essentially, the MegaWheels S10 offers a comfortable ride, full of features and at a fraction of the cost of many other models; definitely a great starter scooter or for those on a budget.

Can it be used as a regular scooter?
As we found no mention of any automatic locking system once out of battery, we believe it likely that the S10 also functions as a normal scooter.
Does it connect to your smartphone via app or Bluetooth?
No – unfortunately the S10 doesn’t currently offer any mobile app/Bluetooth support.
Build quality and ease of use
Before we started our review, we expected this cheap electric scooter to offer little in terms of build quality. However, we were pleasantly surprised, with the super lightweight frame actually fashioned from aerospace-grade aluminium. In fact, MegaWheels place much confidence in their quality control, offering up to 1 years warranty on all components for official purchases. If this doesn’t give some indication of MW’s confidence in the S10, we don’t know what does.
In terms of ease of use, this lightweight eScooter was extremely easy to set up, ride, charge and pack, folding in seconds. The display was clearly and centrally situated, with an electric brake button also located close-by on the handlebars. So, whilst the MegaWheels S10 falls a little flat on speed/range performance, its brilliantly built and charges extremely fast; what more can you ask from such a cost-effective electric scooter?

Moving on to arguably the most important section of our 2024 MegaWheels S10 review; safety & usability on the road. As you might have guessed, this certainly isn’t an off-road performance scooter, offering a modest motor, range and speed. As such, we believe the S10 best suits smooth, even terrains such as roads or pavements.
However, due to the low speed, we still recommend sticking to the pavement and don’t challenge any cars. The previously mentioned front & rear LED lights keep riders seen and safe from traffic, alongside offering visibility at night. Lastly, we always recommend that riders wear adequate safety gear when riding on roads, such as a high-visibility jacket, helmet, gloves, etc.
