Gocycle G3C 2023 Review & Overview
Starting off our overview with the obvious; this sensational specimen of an eBike emanates a sleek sophistication in its design. Truly a design choice that we’d love to see more of, with each and every component fully internalised within the frame, with no visible cabling and in-frame battery.
The streamlined dashboard also attests to this sleek design, elegantly displaying battery life, ride mode, speed and gear position. As expected, this model also features a fully folding frame, also allowing compact stowing and easy transportation; perfect for commuters riding to the train station.
Further proving the this quality build, this folding eBike features a high modulus carbon front frame. As such, this affords the Gocycle G3C incredible strength, supporting up to 100kg; whilst also retaining a ludicrously light weight of just 15.5 kg (34.17 lbs). Riders can pick from 4 ride modes, depending on how they feel.

With a powerful front hub motor, its no surprise that the G3C propels riders to throttle-only speeds of up to 20 mp/h (25 km/h). Furthermore, the brilliant 375 Wh lithium-ion battery powers the gallant G3C to ranges of up to 50 miles (80 km).
With up to 50 mile range off a single charge, this makes the GoCycle G3C one of the longest range eBikes we’ve currently reviewed. Thanks to the battery, this folding eBike also boasts a super-fast charging time of just 4 hours; of which we discuss more of below.
As previously mentioned, riders also have the capacity to set ride modes, editing top speed and power output. Riders opting for less demanding modes should expect reduced output coupled with an extended ride time. Please consider that variables such as rider weight, terrain, incline, etc. will impact overall performance.
Lastly, another thing worth noting is that the US motor has a 500W capacity, with the EU version sitting at 250W. Whilst we found no evidence that this impacts overall top speed and range, its worth double checking with the supplier.

What age/weight is it suitable for?
Whilst we found no recommended age rating, we believe this eBike to best suit ages 13+. We believe this an accurate age due to the size, alongside top speed offered. The Gocycle G3C is aimed much more towards adults, commuters and eBike enthusiasts.
Furthermore, whilst no recommended height was mentioned, the handlebar is height adjustable, accommodating a variety of sizes. Lastly, we have confirmed that this lightweight electric bike supports weights of up to 100 kg (220 lbs), including clothing and luggage.
What is the range/distance?
Approx. 50 miles (80 km) off a single charge. Riders can extend their range in Eco mode or through physical pedalling.

Next up on our Gocycle G3C review for 2023, battery life & charging. As previously mentioned, the rapidly charging 375W lithium-ion battery simply blows us away. With enough capacity to operate for up to 50 miles off a single charge; this 17A/22V battery charges in just 4 hours.
As such, this also makes the Gocycle G3C one of the fastest charging electric bikes we’ve reviewed to date. Riders can locate the battery stylishly integrated within the frame, maintaining that clean-cut aesthetic.

Battery protection & safety
Moving on to battery protection & safety; the G3C’s innovative design also offers additional protection to the battery, which is seamlessly integrated within the frame. This helps protect that brilliant battery from the elements, alongside any physical impacts. Furthermore, the the Gocycle G3C features their own proprietary Battery Management System. How long will the battery last for?
As a premium quality Lithium-ion battery, riders should expect an average of 500-1000+ charge cycles before any issues arise. For perspective, even if you were charging your G3C every day, it would still take approx. 2-3+ years of continuous use to reach this stage.

Changing gears to the design & ergonomics section of our Gocycle G3C 2023 review; as you may have guessed, the design of this folding eBike proves itself something special. Features such as a fully folding frame, fast charging, height adjustable handlebar and no visible cables make up just a few noteworthy aspects of this eBike.
For starters, GoCycle take great pride in their patented Pitstopwheels, also included on this model. These Pitstopwheels achieved a top speed of 133.78 km/h (83.6 mp/h) on the VeloX; setting a new world speed record for vehicles powered by humans. That should help give some perspective of the level of innovation and quality included with this model.
Alongside speed record-breaking capabilities, these Pitstopwheels also offer easy maintenance; making removing and fixing flat tires effortless. The incredible 15.5 kg weight of the GoCycle G3C and fully folding frame make for an ideal commuting eBike. Ride to work, effortlessly fold up your ride and be fully charged before you’ve even hit lunch time.
This light weight comes in thanks to the high modulus carbon front frame, alongside the injection moulded magnesium cleandrive. Ergonomically speaking, the GoCycle G3C offers a smooth ride, with a soft seat, comfortable hand grips and perfectly situated display. Furthermore, the 25mm suspension soaks up bumps and other harsh hits with ease, helping maintain an easy journey.

Can it be used as a regular bike?
Yes – Riders can choose from multiple riding modes, each with varying levels of pedal-assist. Choose from Eco, City and On-demand mode, or program your own custom riding mode from the mobile app (more detail below). Riders who opt for a less intensive ride mode or put in a pedal should expect increased range, battery life and ride time.
Does it connect to your smartphone via app or Bluetooth?
Yes – The GoCycle G3C offers full mobile app support through the GocycleConnect app. Riders can use this app with a smart device, which also acts as a display; alongside allowing riders to set their own custom ride modes. Build quality and ease of use
Moving on to the build quality & ease of use section for our Gocycle G3C 2023 review. As you may have gathered from the rest of our review… The build quality of this lightweight, fast-charging and fully folding eBike is incredible. Premium quality, high-end materials are used, with great care and quality control taken throughout production process. Not many eBikes claim a carbon frame, even less are foldable.
Thanks to this carbon frame and magnesium moulded cleandrive, this model weights just 15.5kg; yet supports up to 6.5 times its own weight. This light weight makes the GoCycle G3C extremely easy to fold, carry and store. Again, it really does make the perfect commuting eBike, especially when coupled with its fast charge time.
The previously mentioned 25 mm suspension smooths out any harsh hits and bumps on your journey, aiding in a comfortable ride. Riders can easily mount & dismount, thanks to the low down, walk-through frame. This walk-through frame also aids elderly riders and those with mobility issues.
Shimano Nexus 3-speed shifting allows riders to always have the perfect gear on hand for the job. Moving on to arguably the most important section of our 2023 GoCycle G3C review; safety and usability on the road. As far as it stands, we believe this model perfectly suitable for use on the road. Furthermore, we believe that this eBike was designed with only roadside use in mind; mostly due to the lack of off-road functionality.
The previously mentioned front & rear hydraulic brakes allow riders to make split-second stops at a moments notice; especially vital when riding on the road. Alongside this, the City mode was clearly intended for urban use. The GoCycle G3C further features a daytime running light, helping ensure visibility.
This also complies directly with European law, mandating that all automobiles include these. Although, one serious issue letting this model down are the lack of integrated front & rear lighting. However, riders can further personalise their ride with a number of additions, such as mudguards, racks and panniers.
An integrated light kit also features as one of these accessories, but comes at an additional cost. Personally, we believe all high-end electric bikes should come with lighting as a standard. We heavily recommend that riders fit aftermarket lighting to their eBike if none are integrated, especially when riding during darker days. Check out eBike lights here. Gocycle G3C waterproof rating
